OUR COLLECTOR ELECTRODES

The most common element used to collect precipitated dust in an Electrostatic Precipitator is the plate type Collector Electrode. These elements are designed with structural stiffeners to increase plate strength with such stiffeners also used to help reduce particulate re-entrainment losses by providing an overall configuration which also traps dust dislodged during normal rapping cycles. GEECOM Collector Electrodes are designed and manufactured in-house and taking into consideration appropriate technical requirements which fully meet the specific application. Furthermore they are supplied in either;

• Normal carbon/mild steel
• Special purpose stainless steel

CURTAIN
A single assembly of various vertically mounted Collector Electrode plates is known as a “Curtain”. In a simple Electrostatic Precipitator design, each Curtain is made effectively into a single element by bolting its set of individual plates to a hanger at the top and a free-hold rapper bar at the bottom.

It is of the utmost importance that , in such an arrangement, plate distortion is avoided at all times so as to ensure that necessary clearances are kept within allowable design tolerances in order to ensure an arrangement conducive to the introduction of maximum electric power to each operating field. This is achieved by GEECOM by addressing the following:

• A new special purpose built machine to roll the plates
• Multi stage manufacturing process ensures minimum stress to plates
• Introduction of handling processes which confirm and guarantee constant straightness of plates

STAINLESS STEEL PLATES
Main properties and advantages of Collector Electrode Plates manufactured in Stainless Steel as per the following:

• Ferritic stainless steel material (Low carbon, dual stabilized)
• Higher corrosion resistance than mild steel which is especially important to ESPs which are washed regularly
• Extremely smooth plate surface allowing for effective dust removal during rapping
• Better impact resistance and force transmission during rapping
• Providing for structural weight reduction in refurbishment/upgrade projects
